영유아의 절반을 학원으로 내모는 한국의 치열한
학업 경쟁’이런 제목의 기사을 통해 한국 영유아
사교육 실태 조사 결과틀 소개있다
지난 13일 한국 교육부와 통계청이 발표한 ‘2024
년 초중고 사교육비 조사 결과’에 따르면 6세 미만
취학 전 영유아 가구 부모 1만3241명올 대상으로
작년 7~9월 시행된 조사 결과 사교육에 참여하는
영유아 비율은 47.6%없다 특히 5세 때는 10명 중
8명(81.296)이 학원 등올 다뉘다. 일주일에 평균
5.6시간을 사교육 하는 데 사용행고 월평균 33만
2000원이 들없다 ‘영어 유치원’으로 불리는 유아
영어학원은 학원의 월평균 비용은 154만5000원
이없다. 이에 ‘4세 고시’ ‘7세 고시’라는 말도 나오
고 있다:

FT는 한국 사교육올 대표하는 ‘학원’ (hagwon)에
대해 “영어, 수학 과학, 글쓰기 등과 같은 과목올
가르치는 곳”이라면서 “한국에서 매우 근 산업으
로 성장햇다”고 설명햇다 FT는 “한국의 부모들은
자녀들이 일류 대학에 입학하고 보수가 좋은 대기
업에 갈 수 있도록 학원에 의지한다”고 평햇다.
이러한 경쟁은 결국 가계 재정에 부담으로 작용햇
다 지난해 초중고교생 사교육비 지출은 전년 대비
7.7% 증가한 총 29조2000억원으로 4년 연속 최
대치틀 경신있다.
이 같은 교육비 상승은 한국의 인구 위기에 일조하
고 있다고 FT는 짚없다. 지난해 한국의 합계출산
