당시 보이저 미션 관계자들은

백업 롤 추진기가 있으니 괜찮다고 판단함
문제는 이 백업 롤 추진기가 올 가을이면 수명을 다할 예정임
결국 나사의 과학자들은
전원이 꺼진 메인 롤 추진기를 다시 켜야할 필요성을 느꼈고
데이터 통신에 편도로 23시간씩 걸리는 원격신호를 보내
올해 3월 20일, 메인 추진기가 켜진 신호를 받게 됨
